Allison, you looked absolutely STUNNING for your prom! I totally think of a greek goddess when I see that pale gold dress being twirled, and you with those gorgeous chestnut tresses… Such a beauty! And hilarious – you think a girl in a dress like this, and awesome purple heels would be a little leery of running around a farm for photos – but not this one! Lay in the grass? Sure! Lean against a tree? Why not? I couldn’t let her out-tomboy me, so I slipped off my gold flipflops, rolled up my pants, and ventured into that ice cold creek… Resulting in one of my favorite pics of ALL TIME!! CHECK IT OUT!! ↓↓↓ Best of luck in your future endeavors, my friend! I know that whatever you do, you will do with passion, and humor, and humility. xoxo
Bahaha, this one rocks my socks. Poor Allison is the only girl in this family – I pity whichever guy has to come courting!! And the outtakes of this shot are pretty hilarious too 😉
This girl. She was in an accident last year playing softball, and severely wrecked her leg. A couple of surgeries and many months later, she is getting around with a cane, and just took a few steps without it! She’s had a rough go, but has kept that sweet smile on her face through most of it. And she walked down the aisle at her graduation to the cheers of her friends and family!!! Huge congrats on everything you’ve accomplished, and I hope your post-grad years are full of amazing blessings!! I was stoked to hang out with you last week and celebrate your grad with a prom photoshoot! xoxo
I recently met a girl. Her name is Jenni. She’s from North Carolina, she’s a photographer , and she’s riDONC. Not only is she stupid creative, she’s seriously one of the sweetest things you’ll ever meet!! She recently put together a styled shoot for the sole purpose of having a bunch of girls hang out, and shoot. Shoot whatever, however, and whichever we wanted, with no stress of having to please a client, no timeline, no nothing. And when this girl plans a shoot, she really plans a shoot. She handmade these GORGEOUS tulle tutu skirts, the adorable multi-colored paper pinwheels, and even had this amaaaazing cake made by the talented Cakes by Madison! The wonderful people at Devan Greenhouses hosted us, and were such a pleasure to work with! A huge thanks also to Arrow & Lace Designs for their sweet teal bowtie!
We had so much fun getting to know eachother, and taking turns posing our AWESSSSSOMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE models!! Seriously, if you’re a photographer, whether you’re a newbie or more established, and you haven’t reached out to other photographers in your community, I HIGHLY recommend you do so 😉 Even if it’s just for a coffee. Or a date at Target 😉 I’ve made some wonderful relationships with other women in similar life situations, and they’ve been quick to encourage me, challenge me, and listen when i need to rant. So Jenni, thank you so much for this night, and all your hard work putting it together. It was a blast!!
Once again, the weather held out for this awesome Chilliwack wedding!! 60% chance of rain, and we had awesome overcast skies all day. Just a little spit of rain during the ceremony! Yay! Sarah was emotional in the morning, as she was getting hair and makeup done in the basement of her parent’s home, surrounded by her friends. She insisted that noone was allowed to come up to her and tell her she looked beautiful because she’d definitely start crying! But she did. Look beautiful. This girl is insanely photogenic, and such a sweetheart. To prove my point, check out their engagement session at Harrison Lake! Following hair and makeup, we went upstairs where she got into her stunning, fairytale-esque ballgown! She had an emotional first look with her dad, and then her bridesmaids, and then she had to gear up for another one with her hubby to be!!
Larissa, from Lavender Pier Photography, who was my awwwesome 2nd shooter for the day, and I met the guys at a beautiful Chilliwack property. I’m so grateful again to the owners who allowed us to shoot here. Sarah waited under a tree for Chad to walk up and see her for the first time. They were both radiating happiness!! After the first look, the bridal party joined us in dodging cow poop while we explored the farm and and took more photos.
Absolutely loved Sarah’s flowers. And they looked amazing against the navy bridemsaid dresses!
Chad lookin all dapper in his grey suit!
HAHAHAHA! THIS was a first 😀
loooove the directional light in this one.
That VEIL!!! So beautiful.
Following photos with the bridal party, we headed to Sardis Fellowship for the wedding ceremony and then reception at Yarrow Community Centre ! Chad & Sarah, thank you again for having Larissa and I with you to celebrate your day! We had a wonderful time, and we hope you guys had a blast at your reception!!
This kinda summarizes what this whole day was about. So much love!!
Another gorgeous day for a wedding!! I first met Mat & Nicole at Nicole’s sister, Kristen’s, wedding which I photographed last August! I can’t get over how much these two look alike, and despite their differences, how similar they are. It was such an honor to be a part of both of their wedding days!
Mathew & Nicole are so sweet together. They both have an awesome sense of humor, and I caught them whispering to eachother and laughing numerous times throughout the day. As corny as it sounds, you can kinda feel the love radiating out of these two 😉
I started the day at Kristen’s house where Nicole and the girls were hanging out and getting hair and makeup done. These girls be CRAY!! They were hilarious!!
I couldn’t not include a photo of the most ridiculously adorable little dog I have EVER seen!!
Love this shot! Kirkland House has so many awesome nooks and crannies to shoot in!
I so wish I could’ve had an outdoor wedding ceremony! This is so gorgeous!! And those florals?? AMAZINGGGG!! Thanks to the talent that is Flowerella!
SO MUCH CUTENESS!! I can’t even handle it!!
Nicole grandparents are awesome. I had the pleasure of meeting them at Kristen & Ryan’s wedding, and totally fell in love with them. They are so genuine and sweet, and love these girls so much. So special that he walked both of his girls down the aisle!
This is love people.
Making it official!
After doing family photos on the property at Kirkland House, we headed to Tsawwassen for bridal party photos. I had scoped out the area the week prior and found this amaaaazing field of buttercups. The only problem is that you had to walk through a teeny tiny little path and traipse through muck to get there. I am SO STOKED that Nicole trusted me and went for it!! I have so many beautiful photos from this field!!
Such a beauty!!
Nicole gettin all sassy 😉
hahahaha, see what I mean!! These guys are a great group!!
beautiful. Every single one of you.
The light!!! And you two seriously look like you have prior modelling experience. So if you ever run stuck in the employment department? You might wanna pursue a career 😉
STUNNING shot from Kerensa!!
Harris Barn was decorated beautifully for the reception! White wooden chairs with burlap ribbons, white table linens, gold chargers with olive green napkins and topped with an antique key as a gift for the guests, beautiful peonies in all shades of pink and blush, accented with creams and fresh greens, and these ridiculously AWESOME lit up marquee letters!!
Hahahaha – this was pretty hilarious to watch! He went after that sucker with his teeth!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Another epic photo to round out the night by Kerensa! Nicole and Mat, and your families, thanks again for having me!! It was a blast meeting so many of you, and we are incredibly thankful for your generosity and hospitality.
