Blake has always been a good sleeper. If he wanted to sleep, it didn’t matter where he was, how loud it was, or when it was, he could crash. Well, he’s 2.5 now, and still napping for 3 hours in the afternoon. Every day. And because of that, he’s also staying up until 10pm. Every day. It used to be 8:30 – 9:00 ish, which didn’t really bother me. He was always really good, and we were up anyway. Now that it’s like, 10pm or later, it kinda starts to cut into my bedtime occasionally. me no likey. So, I thought it would be a good idea to start shortening those naps. What we’ve ended up with, is an all day crabby 2.5 year old, that I have to wake up from a nap (every day), that goes to bed at 7:30 – 8ish, but doesn’t sleep until 9 – 9:30ish!! Mama mia. I’m hoping it will just take a while for him to get used to it… Well, I’m hoping he’ll get used to it in the next 4 days, because we’re going camping next week, and I just want a happy toddler!! Selfish ain’t it? I’m hoping that my very intelligent friend who informed me that all that sun and fresh air will make him crash early will be right. Anyway, here are some snaps old and new of my little man who will literally sleep anywhere.

Sigh, I don’t know what it is about a sleeping baby. But I love it. And I hope it comes back to us soon.
First of all, I just wanted to acknowledge that I’m probably the world’s worst blogger. Oh well. I’m sure that just makes this post so much better. Like, when you book a holiday, half the fun is the anticipation? I’m sure it’s very close to that.
Blake is such a fussy eater. I can name the stuff he eats on 2 hands. And I’m not generalizing, like saying one of the fingers is for cookies. No, one of the fingers would be for a specific type of cookie. This is one of the biggest challenges we’ve had with raising this little dude. I know, if that’s the biggest challenge we’ve had… But it is SO FRUSTRATING. He’s 2.5 years old, and he weighs maybe 25lbs soaking wet. So, as a mother, my job is to help him grow. And I’m failing!! Don’t worry, I don’t actually need therapy or anything. I know all I can do is continue to encourage, and continue to let him try new things.
