We had been watching the weather all week, and it wasn’t looking promising. 60% chance of showers. We talked about backup locations for family photos, and what colour umbrellas to buy. The day dawned grey and foggy, but it wasn’t raining! I started the day at Jodene’s parents, where Jodene was having her crazy long hair curled into submission by Awesome Hair by Michelle, and her sisters were keeping her entertained while running after her nieces. The atmosphere was super relaxed, but everyone was excited and happy. Jodene did her own makeup, which was very soft and natural, and totally “her”.
It’s always a great day when Kerensa is shooting with me, and she had the job of wrangling these crazy boys for some getting ready shots of them! Caleb, his 2 brothers (one of which is his twin. And they are ridiculously identical. I might have had to ask which twin it was when I walked in and saw only one of them…) and his best friend, got ready at the church where the ceremony was held.
I am STOKED about this image that Kerensa got of Caleb after he was all decked out! Lookin pretty suave there, dude.
When the girls arrived at the hall, Caleb and Jodene hid around the corner from eachother, held hands, and prayed together before the ceremony. It is so amazing to see a young couple starting off a marriage with God at the center!!
Amazing stationary by Jodene’s sisters at Sister Made !
Absolutely loooooved that they were escorted out by bagpipe! So awesome!!
And because we were super spoiled, it still wasn’t raining, so we kept with our original plan to do family and bridal party portraits at Benanna Lake! It started to sprinkle right at the end of family portraits, so we hauled out the umbrellas, but it only lasted about 5 minutes, and then was dry the rest of the day! yay!
The reception hall was beautifully decorated in the same theme of teal and coral. We had an amazing dinner, followed by some heartfelt speeches, and instead of a wedding cake – a SMORES bar!! Apparently Jodene & Caleb both love smores, so what an awesome way to incorporate them into their wedding day!! And that last pic, taken by Kerensa, might just be my fave ever. hahahahahaha!! Thank you guys so much for having us along, and I hope your trip to Cancun is amazing!!!
