Abbotsford Wedding Photographer │ Cassandra & Tyler

The morning of Tyler & Cassandra’s wedding dawned grey and drizzly. I was a bit worried for them since they had planned for an outdoor ceremony at the gorgeous Trethewey House . I loooove shooting outdoor ceremonies, but it’s always a bit of a risk! I remember wanting one when I got married, but my ever-practical mother talked me out of it 🙂 Love you mom. But I’m still mad. haha Just kidding.
I met Cassie at Transformations Hair Design near the Sumas border. What a super sweet couple of girls!! We had a great time chatting it up, and laughing about a lot of random things! Cassie was super chill and just so excited to be tying the knot. While I was hanging out with the bride, Janna from Hello Friday Photography , who was my lovely 2nd shooter for the day, was waiting for the guys to show up at Cassie & Tyler’s house. They were late. Of course. I mean, it’s only a wedding. NBD.bride-hair-makeup-salon
After Cassie was all dolled up and ready to go, we meandered on over to Trethewey House to get her into her dress and meet up with her bridesmaids. This place is gorgeous. It’s an actual house, restored to circa 1925, and it just oozes historic charm!! There were tons of little rooms, nooks and crannies for some fun, editorial style portraits.
Well it had been sprinkling on and off all morning, and literally 15 minutes before the ceremony was due to start, it started POURING. Like, torrentially. So all the chair covers were soaked, and there was really not much else to do, but go with plan b. Plan b was an adorable little gazebo on the other side of the lawn, with tents put up for the guests to stand beneath. The rain didn’t last long, and the sun came out during their vows!
We had an amazing afternoon for photos! The grounds were beautiful and offered tons of different backdrops for photos. We roamed around for an hour or so, and then everyone made their way over to Straiton Community Hall for the dinner and party! Thank you guys again for having me as your photographer. Janna and I had so much fun with you guys, and we were stoked that you guys were up for any of our crazy ideas? Get in a bathtub? Why certainly. Enjoy the rest of the photos!!
