Amanda & Tyler are ridiculously sweet. And I don’t know if they were just shy around me, but they are incredibly quiet and soft spoken. And yet we still totally hit it off when we met at Starbucks a while back. We had a great time passing stories around about our friends and crazy families, and after I got home I texted Amanda, and told her that she should probably not meet with any other photographers, and to just book me. I got a call from her the next day saying they wanted to! HOORAY!! Nothing like being straight forward huh??
We planned their Kawkawa Lake engagement session at Amanda’s family cabin. So freaking gorgeous here. Unbelievable. We spent some time shooting on the docks, and around the cabin, and then Amanda suggested we hike up to the abandoned cabin. Um, did you say hike? Yah, she replied, it’s only about 20 minutes! Welllll, let’s just say I’m kind of out of shape. And I haven’t hiked since about 1989. (That’s an exaggeration. But that’s what it feels like) But she told me there were views of the lake, and I mean, who in their right mind would say no?? So off we went. And I gasped and wheezed, but made it up, and it was SO WORTH IT!!!!!!! Thanks for showing me around guys – it was a blast!!

I’ve been looking forward to Ben & Keloran’s engagement session for SO LONG!! Ben couldn’t make it to the original meeting, so I was excited to meet him, and Keloran and I got along so well!! Plus, she’s the one who got me completely hooked on Starbucks’ green tea lemonade. So thanks for that dude – like i really needed another vice πŸ˜‰ And seriously, LOOK at this girl! I wanted to photograph that beautiful face BAD!! We weren’t expecting good weather, so we got permission to shoot at an abandoned house just in case it ended up pouring rain. We lucked out, so began the session in beautiful Harrison, and ended at the house for some fun and crazy stuff with off camera flash! Can’t wait for your guys’ wedding!!!

  • Your work is always perfection. I love (LOVE) the way you’ve captured light and shadow — and how you’ve managed to insert an element of elegant drama into every image. The shot of this couple silhouetted in the doorway with golden light spilling around them, this is intimate and beautiful and heartbreakingly gorgeous in every possible way. This is engagement photography at its very finest.ReplyCancel
