Breanna & Greg had the perfect wedding day. I mean, wedding days are all perfect, in their own unique, sometimes wet and drizzly, way 😉 But these two planned an outdoor farm wedding in Chilliwack, with the help of the two lovely ladies at In Check Events, and it was absolutely stunning. The wedding was set up in a cornfield under the gorgeous iconic Chilliwack landmark, Mt. Cheam, and they had perfect weather. I remember when I was planning my own wedding, soooo many years ago :P, I desperately wanted a backyard wedding, but it was mid-September, and my mom was just not on board. As it turns out, the weather would have been fine, but it’s definitely not a given, especially here in the pacific northwest. But these two lucked out, and the entire day was just gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a bride’s entrance quite as impactful as the one that Breanna concocted, but it suited her to a tee! And the adorable little ring bearers!!!
It was a blast chasing these 2 lovebirds around, and blogging this makes me so excited for this upcoming year’s couples!!
After the sweetest first look on the front step of Breanna’s home, we headed off to the field for family photos and took advantage of the scenery (and the couch) for a few photos with just Breanna & Greg. One of my faves! The old fence, the huge old trees, and the cows in the background <3This girl. Seriously. How can you not love her??Another of my faves!!Another hilarious, laidback bridal party. I can’t believe I get paid for this some days…My all-time favourite of the day!! Amazing view right??!!GAHHH, I cannot get over how cute this is!!!Breanna making her entrance. So stinking beautiful, my friend.Little guy was all partied out 😀These guys set up an amazing flash mob to kick off a night of dancing!

These two. Where do I even start. When I first met them at their engagement session, it was love at first sight. FOR ME!! Which might be weird to some, but it’s totally normal for me. I feel like this quote sums them up perfectly. (Credit: Found on Pinterest, and couldn’t find the original poster)
Their whole day was spent either laughing or crying. I don’t recall any in between moments!! It was perfect and beautiful, and they deserved every second. Kim & Linden, I wish you both every happiness, and I’m so glad I could spend the day capturing these memories for you. Keep loving as hard as you did on your wedding day, and you two are golden 😉
A Coast Hotel wedding is STUNNING! The ballroom looks beautiful all done up, and the staff were excellent. What a perfect spot to end the perfect day.Linden and the bridal party surprised Kim with a flash mob, and it was AMAZING!!! So glad they had hired Ben Lum and his team for video, because that had to get documented!!

I love hearing the stories of how my couples meet. Sometimes they’re so random, and it seems crazy that from one serendipitous interaction, a lifetime of happiness can be built! These two met at a concert in Vancouver. Allan is a good friend of Mikayla’s brother, and he started hanging out with him a wholllle lot more after he met his sister! The rest is history <3
This wedding was so laid back! I began the day shooting at Mikayla's parents where the girls were all getting ready. Once the guys were all decked out and ready to go, they made their way over in the limo, and Allan & Mikayla had their first look in the bride's beautiful back yard. They were so happy to see eachother!! After they took a moment to talk about their excitement and feelings about the day, Mikayla led Allan inside where she gave him a piano solo. These kind of moments are what I live for. You could tell how much this meant to both of them, and the emotions ran high. Sometimes it's hard not to feel that you are not welcome during a moment. That you are interfering. But on the other hand, I know that the images I'm creating are going to be ones they will cherish forever!
From there they all piled into the limo for a ride to Yarrow, where we hung out for the rest of the afternoon doing photos at Browne Creek Wetlands, and along the river! After a couple of really really hot hours of shooting, we made a pit stop for ice cream, before meeting both families at Gwynne Vaughn Park for family photos.
Allan & Mikayla, thank you so much for having me and Kerensa along for your day! Can't wait for you to see your canvas and album!!
With all the freakishly hot weather we had this summer, we figured a beautifully sunny, outdoor Trethewey House wedding near the end of July would be a given! Beth & Joel had dreams of a garden wedding; twinkle lights, white wooden chairs, lots of greenery for a earthy feel, and just loving on friends and family under a sky full of stars. It all came true, and then some, in my opinion, with the exception of the sky full of stars. The sky exploded on them with a vengeance!! It was one of the heaviest rains all summer. BUT! It held off until we were nicely protected under the white tents of the reception. It drizzled during the ceremony, didn’t rain at all during portraits, and then unleashed during the evening. But this results in 2 things. An AMAZING rainy day wedding portrait, and a ton of memories 😀 Beth & Joel, you’re wedding day was so perfect. And if it’s true that you can tell a person’s character by the people that surround you, then man oh man, is God doing amazing things through you two. I loved spending the day with you both, and your wonderful friends and family. Much love, and best wishes for your future together!!

Kelsey and Mike are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Kelsey is this gloriously effervescent personality, full of giggles and hilarity. Mike is quiet, thoughtful, a total gentleman. With an equally great sense of humor. So you can imagine how much fun we had 😉
Their outdoor ceremony at the The Secret Garden was outrageously hot, but beautiful. There were tears, laughs, and a dog with a bowtie. After the ceremony we headed off to Browne Creek Wetlands for portraits. Kelsey even walked out into the middle of a log overhanging the creek (she used to dance, y’know) to get “that” shot. LOVE HER!!
Then back to the Secret Garden for their reception! So many laughs, some tears, and a whole lot of dancing. It was such an awesome day, and I was so happy to be able to spend the day with them!
