Chilliwack Family Photographer │ Beautiful Blossoms

This is so weird. I mean, not really weird, but well, I guess, kinda? I originally met Melissa through our local Heart Moms coffee group. This is a small group that was created for local moms who have heart kids to meet and support eachother. We meet once at a month at a Starbucks and have a free coffee courtesy of the Children’s Heart Network. We’ve gotten to know eachother fairly well, and we look forward to getting together! If you or anyone you know has a child with a heart condition, I’d love to put you in touch with a heart group in your area!
Anyway, the weird part comes in here. Melissa’s husband participated in a golf fundraiser for Cascade Christian School (where, incidentally, we are both sending our kiddos to) last fall, and won the free photoshoot that I had donated! What is the chance of that?! It was cool that it was a family I knew, and I was excited to shoot them and their 3 crazy boys 🙂
There is a small field nearby with a bunch of blooming trees (cherry? not sure), and it is absolutely stunning. We had beautiful weather, and the kids came armed to the teeth with energy. I was happy to have Ellenna, a girl from my church, along, so that she could distract the older two while I shot some quick frames of just mom and dad. Ellenna is learning photography as well, and just wanted to get a feel for how a photo session unfolds. I laughed afterward, and asked if it was anything like she expected! I try not to do many “posed” shots, because that’s a guaranteed way to turn happy kids into grumpy kids. So a family session generally involves me running around after the little apes, trying to get them in decent light with no distracting backgrounds, and hootin and hollerin to get their attention. It’s a sight to behold, let me tell you!! We had a ton of fun, and I’m loving how these turned out. Especially the one of mom and dad kissing while holding all their kids upside down!!! I’m still laughing over that one…
