Chilliwack Photographer │ WIN A NEXUS 7!!

When I think back to the day I got my first dslr for mother’s day in 2010, taking on photography as a business was not even a blip in my radar. In fact, I’m pretty sure the only reason I got one was because my bestie wanted one, and she was so excited about it, she made me want one 🙂 one shoot led to another, led to another, and I started to charge. And I started to love it. And started to buy more equipment because the things I wanted to achieve couldn’t be done with the stuff I had. So I started to charge more. And then I started a blog, and got busier. And kept learning, and shooting and blogging. I never ever imagined I would ever be a part of something creative. I’m seriously the most uncreative person I know. I can’t even scrapbook. But somehow photography lit a fire of creative CRAZINESS under my butt, and I’m somehow making a living by doing something that I love SO SO MUCH!! Exactly a year ago today, I decided to change my business name to Urban Fig Photography. It was not something I wanted to do, and it was something that kinda scared me. But today? Today I’m just resting in the realization that it was one of the best things that could’ve happened to my business. It makes me stand out. It makes me different. And hopefully a few years from now, it’ll be a name that engaged couples from Hope to Vancouver will recognize and want as a part of their wedding day.  😉  I’m just beyond thankful to everyone; family, friends and facebook friends, who have encouraged me, who have kicked my butt when I was having a bad day, who babysat my kids, who referred me to someone, or even just commented on a photo.

So enough of the mushy crap, bring on the FREE STUFF!!!!!!! Enter here for your chance to win a GOOGLE NEXUS 7!!!  Sorry Apple fans, we do Android in this house 😉 Contest closes on July 4, which is officially Urban Fig’s first birthday, at noon!

Most important thing to me when choosing a photographer is their style.ReplyCancel

A good photographer must speak her mind to accomplish the task (as he or she sees it) and … It is a gift to radiate a certain calm , when people are nervous or tense. Do know before hand exactly what it is your client wants, and try to achieve that. The 2013 Grad Class of MCCS commented on how fun and relaxed you were… Well, there’s certainly something to be said for that-I think it would be a challenge to organize 18 17-18 yr. olds . From the pictures I’ve seen on your blog- you have a style I admire, that’s why we chose you to take our family pictures 🙂ReplyCancel

A good photographer is one who can come up with creative ideas for a photo shoot. And has a background of taking a good variety of styles of pictures.ReplyCancel

For me it is looking at the style of the photographer… a photographer will be most in their element capturing the style and type of pictures they are happy with so if a client comes to a photographer wanting something different they probably should look for a photographer that suits their needs better! You don’t want to ‘kill’ the photographer’s creativity by not letting them do what they do best!ReplyCancel
