Chilliwack Wedding Photographer │ Derek & Beck

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a while! My cousin, who I didn’t know was my cousin (read that story here) got married to his beautiful bride on a cloudless day. I knew they would be a blast to shoot, because their e-session was so chill and they’re both just awesome in front of the camera!!
The day started with a colossal, scary hiccup. 2 of Beck’s sisters are expecting, and one ended up in the hospital on the morning of, with some complications. The doctor told her that she would not be allowed to leave the hospital and that she had to be on bed rest. Um, yah. On her sister’s wedding day??! I no think so. And this feisty little mama didn’t either. They finally let her out, and she made it back just in time to get her hair done at Beck’s parents house, which is where the day began. So thankful that mom and baby are doing ok, and that she was able to be there for her sister!!
We arrived while Beck was getting her makeup done, and Kristy Klaassen Photography, who was shooting with me for the day, left right away to get some shots of the guys at a different location. I looooove the reaction of the bride when she gets in her dress officially!! so awesome 🙂

We had some time before the church service once everyone was ready, and because we NEVER waste an opportunity, we got some shots of Beck with her parents, her attendants and just some gorgeous shots of her by herself. And Kristy was doing the same thing with the guys!

From there we went to the ceremony. I love how it was set up with the white pillars of tulle with soft lights behind, petals down the aisle – super romantic. They were both feeling nervous before the ceremony so it was good to get the show on the road!!

After these two made it OFFICIAL!! we met the families at Gwynne Vaughan Park for family photos, and then we hung around for a bit for some more shots of Derek & Beck and the bridal party. I looove the richness of these photos. And aren’t they ridiculously gorgeous?!!

From there we headed off to Island 22 , where we spent the remainder of our time before the reception. The light was gorgeous and the setting even more so. This was such a fun group of people and we spent most of the time in stitches. Can you BELIEVE that pic of all the guys?!! I still laugh when I look at it!! And I’ve been looking at it for like a week already! So awesome.

So once we had worked up a good sweat, we made our way to the reception hall, where Beck & Derek spent the evening eating, drinking, and having an amazing time surrounded by their family and friends. What an awesome day, and I’m beyond blessed to have been a part of it.
