I have been so excited about Jason & Malin’s affirmation ceremony. I did their engagement photos at the beginning of this year (which was also the same day they were officially married), and they were so ridiculously comfortable in front of the camera!! If you haven’t heard their story, click the link above to get acquainted with them. So today was an affirmation of the vows they spoke back in January with their friends and family present to witness it. It was an absolutely perfect day, and I had the pleasure of having my super duper talented sister-in-law, Andrea Devisser, as my 2nd shooter!
I started the day at the beautiful Coast Hotel where Malin was getting ready with her two closest friends. As you may know, Malin is from Germany, and so are her friends! It was so so awesome that these girls were both able to fly down and stand at Malin’s side. We didn’t have much time at all, but women are good under pressure… RIGHT?!
And while we were running around at the hotel, Andrea made her way over to Jason’s parents’ place, where Jason and his guys were getting spiffy. Funniest wedding day story EVER alert!! Andrea drives up to the house, gets out of the car, and notices a ginormous doberman on the front patio. Or maybe there were two? I should probably let her tell the story. Anyways, she thinks they must be friendly, and starts walking up the stairs to the porch. At which point one of the dogs lunges at her, freaks her out, causing her to jump rather athletically backwards down the steps, which in turn caused her skirt to rip from bottom to top. Literally. When someone came outside to rescue her she was literally holding the skirt around her!! Thank goodness it was not a houseful of men, and she managed to borrow a skirt from one of Jason’s sisters. Crisis averted 🙂
Jason & Malin’s ceremony was held at the beautiful gardens at Gwynne Vaughan Park. Their details were pink and cream, and I loved the whole romantic feel of it all.
After the ceremony, Jason & Malin had arranged for their bridal party photos to be shot at a STUNNING private lake. I mean, seriously??
Malin, you are so so beautiful.
right???????!!!
We had so much fun with these guys!
Hahaha
Love the romance of this.
My 2nd fave of the day!!
ahhhhhhhh the light!! The sun came out for a few minutes and we took full advantage 🙂
Photographer’s favorite!!
The reception was held in Jason’s parents’ back yard. I know they put a lot of work into this, but it was so so worth it. It was so relaxed, the food was DELISH (catered by the ever fabulous Cookies Grill ) and the setting was beautiful. Plus the kids could play on the round bales behind the reception tents = a perfect 10! Thank you Jason & Malin for having me and Andrea there to shoot your day, and we wish you nothing but happiness and excitement in the months and years to come!!

Beautiful pictures of an awesome wedding!!
And yes those two dobermans are rather freaky if I may say so myself!
Another wonderful location with an oh so beautiful couple. I live the sitting in the bridge shot, very creative. I also, love that shot of them in the dock with the reflection of the sky. That’s why Brides and Grooms need a professional. We see what others don’t.
So beautiful! Seriously gorgeous photos
the photos by the lake are gorgeousss! the doberman story made me cringed haha!maybe because one of my neighbours has one and i know what they could do to her!! :S
