Chilliwack Wedding Photographer │ Pete & Niesje

Pete & Niesje are quite simply two of the sweetest people you’ll meet. Pete is super quiet, but has a smile on his face all. the. time. Niesje is definitely not quiet, and has this spunky personality that just doesn’t quit! They’re a perfect blend of personality together!! And their wedding day reflected them perfectly. We started the day surrounded by family at Niesje’s parents home. The girls were getting their hair done, and everyone else was having dutch pancakes and coffee and chatting. Niesje’s mom helped her get into her simple, yet unique, blue dress, and I just ADORE the photo of dad seeing his little girl in her wedding dress for the first time. Then Pete showed up to pick up his bride at the front door. I wasn’t sure if it was possible, but his smile actually got BIGGER than normal!! So stinking cute. Seriously. Final touches were completed, guys put on their ties and boutonnieres, and then off we went to the civil ceremony, and then the church service.

Following the church service, the immediately family on both sides got together for a beautiful outdoor lunch put on by Niesje’s family. It relaxed and refueled everyone for the afternoon! From there we went off to Cheam Wetlands for family photos, and then the absolutely stunning Harrison Hot Springs for bridal party photos. We had such a GORGEOUS day!! It was partly overcast, and a bit breezy, and I’m SO thankful they chose to get married on that day, because the very next day, our heatwave hit. And I’m talking like, 30 degrees. Which is just HOT, no matter how you look at it. But if you throw in a wedding dress or a black tux, then it just becomes unbearable. So yeah, thankful is an understatement 😉

After running around Harrison for a couple of hours, we stopped at Baskin Robbins for some ice cream, the guys played a game of chess, and we just chilled for a bit. Then we made our way back to Chilliwack for the reception. And guess who made it down from Ontario this time?? You might remember the recent wedding of Herman & Agatha , during which Agatha’s sister, Maria, who was going through some health issues, could only watch the wedding via Skype? Well, Agatha and Pete are siblings, and Maria actually made it down to Pete & Niesje’s wedding! So so special to have her there. You guys, I was super excited to be a part of your day. I can’t thank you enough. Rachel and I both had a great time getting to know you all, and we want to wish you the very best as you begin your lives together!!
