It’s always interesting to me to find out how people hear about me. A lot of it is word of mouth, or Facebook, but due to the ENORMOUS amount of photographers to choose from, it’s pretty rare that someone from 3 towns over will find me on google. But when I met Kristen & Ryan for coffee last year to talk about their Port Moody wedding, she told me she had done just that! She had spent hours perusing the web, trying to find a photographer that appealed to her and somehow she found me! I was pretty stoked, not gonna lie 🙂 I guess all those blog posts, alt tags, keywords, and photo descriptions were worth it!! SEO is a crazy beast, but so cool when it actually works!
We had a great time at their golf course engagement session, and I was so excited about their wedding! And not only that, but I got to shoot with one of my wonderful friends, and partners in crime, Charlene Stam!! Who, I might add, JUST had a baby, and absolutely ROCKED it all day long!
I love the attention to detail Kristen put into their wedding. Everything was cohesive; from the invitations, to her shoes, to her flowers, to her reception lighting! It was held at the absolutely stunning Port Moody Inlet Theatre, and it was decorated to the nines.
The day started out at Kristen’s grandparents, where all the girls got their hair and makeup done, had lunch, hung out, drank champagne, and just had an awesome time preparing for the wedding. Kristen’s dress was beyond gorgeous – all those layers of tulle, and that fantastic beaded belt!! And those SHOES!! Someone pinch me 🙂
Loving her unique invitations.
Amazing makeup by Mika Does Makeup !
Kristen got a little blue box and a sweet card from her soon-to-be-husband! I love how you can see the girls in the reflection 🙂
The girls helping the bride get ready
Charlene met the guys at the Sheraton Guildford where they were getting ready.
The ceremony was outside on the grass at the Port Moody Inlet Theatre. I loved the pink sashes on the chairs, the gorgeous florals, and her fun programs full of quirky fonts.
Of course, they didn’t want their guests to be blinded by their love (or the sun) so they provided matching sunglasses for all their guests!
Kristen is very close to her grandparents, and I absolutely LOVED that her grandfather walked her down the aisle.
Ryan seeing his beautiful bride for the first time 🙂
Saying their I do’s, and exchanging rings for a lifetime of commitment.
First kiss as husband and wife!
MARRIED!!
Immediately after the ceremony, we went to a park across the road for family photos, and then hopped in the huge limo bus for bridal party photos at Rocky Point Park.
One of my fave bridal party shots ever!
loooooove this shot 🙂
Kristen, you are such a beautiful person, inside and out!
You guys just radiate happiness. Seriously. It makes my job so easy.
haha, love the socks boys!
Such a cool spot! Love this shot!
After photos, we headed back the venue for an amazing night full of speeches, toasts, tears, food, wine, and an awesome dance party hosted by Garry Robertson DJ Entertainment Service!!
Such a unique space!
Gorgeous rings – and of course I had to shoot them on a hot pink, sparkly background 😉
Loved the speech from Kristen’s sister Nicole. At times hilarious, at times sentimental. These two have such a strong bond; they’re lucky to have eachother!
Awesome thank you speech from Kristen & Ryan!
Cutting their adorable cake. Gotta say I was stoked when that happened, since I was eyeballing those cupcakes since we got there!
LOVE first dances!!
And the connection between these two is just beyond awesome!! Kristen’s grandpa is such a cool cat, and he loves his girls like crazy.
We had to head out for one last shot before Char and I went home. I can’t thank you guys enough for having me as your photographer!! So glad you found me. We had such a great time, and we wish you the best!!
