I stumbled on this location while doing a google search one day, and seeing that it was in my area, knew I simply HAD to find it. I love the texture, character and essence of an old broken down building, and this one was top notch!! I’d been wanting to do a creative, styled photoshoot for a while, and knew that location would be perfect. So I enlisted the company of my SIL Cori, and off we went one afternoon for a hiking adventure. Turns out it was way more accessible than I thought, and I started thinking about what I wanted the session to look like. I wanted it to be dreamy, romantic and slightly vintage. Considering my highly procastinative (yup, that’s a word) personality, I didn’t end up with a ton of props or unique ideas, but I’m so so happy with how this session turned out. It’s simple, it’s beautiful, and it was a BLAST, thanks to my stunning model, Melissa, and my partner in crime, Charlene Stam. A huge thanks to Sherrilynn Poulton for Melissa’s fantastic makeup, the ridiculously talented minds over at Quik Pik Flowers for the beautiful floral headpiece, and Melissa’s friend for lending her the adorable vintage dress! Some of these photos are Charlene’s, and I was so stoked to have her along, to bounce ideas off of, and to get some awesome, unique perspectives. EEK! So excited to share!!

So how does one find an old concrete building with graffiti near a pond and a gnarly roots tree for a beautiful girl photo shoot? Great photo shoot and location. The vintage dress lends itself to a dreamy feel. Would you take families here? Maybe American families with 2 dogs? 😀
LOVE this shoot! SUCH beautiful shots.
